In a battle of heavyweights, West Lafayette girls basketball rallied for a 64-59 victory over Carmel at Berberian Gymnasium on Dec. 1. The Red Devils trailed 28-24 at halftime but had momentum after Adrianne Tolen drained a halfcourt shot at the buzzer. West Lafayette subsequently outscored the Greyhounds 20-13 in the third quarter. Tolen had a monster game with 26 points, 14 rebounds and three assists. She was 3-for-3 from 3-point range. Kennedy Martin scored 19 points, pulled down five rebounds and handed out four assists, while Sarah Werth contributed 11 points, six rebounds and three assists. Annie Karlaftis had seven rebounds.
