In a game that featured 12 lead changes and six ties, No. 1-ranked Twin Lakes edged No. 12 West Lafayette girls basketball 62-20 on Dec. 6 in Monticello. The Red Devils (10-2) battled back from a 10-point second-half deficit to take the lead before the Indians (10-0) hit two free throws with nine seconds remaining for the victory. Sarah Werth erupted for 27 points, including five 3-pointers, while Kennedy Martin and Adrianne Tolen scored 14 and 10 points, respectively. Tolen also pulled down nine rebounds and Annie Karlaftis had eight, as West Lafayette controlled the boards by a 32-24 margin. The Red Devils, who scored 23 points in the fourth quarter, committed merely six turnovers for the game.
