West Lafayette Jr-Sr High School

A hot start in the first quarter for the Red Devils was sparked by early threes from Chase Ostrom and Alvin Ajayi. The tight contest had West Lafayette up 18-15 at halftime. Battleground took control in the third and the Red Devils fought hard but couldn't over come, losing 39-37. Martin Vega Diaz provided energy on both ends with eight rebounds and four points. Ajayi had twelve points and six rebounds while Mason Wright had fourteen points, four rebounds and three blocks. West Lafayette now stands at 3-7 on the season. The B team ran into an aggressive Battleground team and dropped their first game of the year by a final score of 45-17. Christian Steffey and Oliver Crowell showed grit as guards with three steals each. Steffey was the point leader for the Red Devils with seven and Ellis Furry added six points. Ira Dobson Jr. was jumping out of the gym with nine rebounds on the night. West Lafayette's B Team moves to 6-1 overall.
