West Lafayette Jr-Sr High School

The West Lafayette 8th Grade Boys traveled across town this time to Central Catholic and defeated the Knights, 48-24. The Red Devils jumped to a 14-0 lead after scoring off the opening tip and were able to hold CC to 8/17-2pt field goals and 1/8-3pt shooting while getting 15 steals for the game. The Red Devils were 18/32-2pt field goals and 3/12-3pt shooting. In a little over two quarters of play, Henry Umulis again led the team in scoring with 15 pts (6/9-2pt and 1/1-3pt), 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Kojo Steffey added 9 pts and 11 rebounds along with 3 assists. Ash Modessit contributed 4 points along with 3 assists and Cody Boyle scored 6 points with 2 assists. In the nightcap, the B team lost a close one, 26-25 to the Knights. Tanner McPherson scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 assists, and Paxton Mills scored 9 points. Dani Caviglia contributed 5 rebounds and Jonah Mitrione added 3 steals. The Red Devils will face Benton Central at home on Thursday, December 16.
