West Lafayette Jr-Sr High School

A tightly contested first half saw West Layette down 20-19 at halftime. Michael Gulich made some key blocks to energize the Red Devils in the second half. Chase Ostrom showed pose down the stretch with his ball handling. He also chipped in the final two baskets of the game pushing West Side to the 43-41 victory. A true team win had many highlights like Martin Vega Diaz with five steals and Alvin Ajayi leading the offense with 14 points. Ostrom had nine points and three beautiful assists. The Red Devils improved their record to 4-8. A back and forth affair in the B game ended with the Red Devils losing at the buzzer, 27-29. West Side's defense kept them in it with 16 total steals. Ehan Qazi, Matthew Casillas, Mert Yavuz, and Aiden Hubbard each had three steals. Ellis Furry and Yavuz both had ten points and Casillas added seven rebounds. The B team is now 7-2 on the season.
