In the last matchup of 2022, the Red Devils 8th Grade Boys traveled up I-65 to Rensselaer to defeat the Bombers, 48-30 and 24-18. In the first game, West Lafayette jumped to an early lead and used a 21-6 3rd quarter scoring burst to eventually pull away, 48-30. Henry Umulis led the Red Devils in scoring with 16 points. Kojo Steffey added 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals and Ash Modessit contributed 6 points, 5 assists, and 7 steals to pace the Red Devils. In a shortened B game due to limited number of players from the Bombers, the Red Devils surged ahead in the 1st half leading 12-7 and won the second half 12-11. Tanner McPherson used 3/3 shooting from 3pt range to lead the Red Devils with 9 points, and Jonah Mitrione was 4/6 from the field adding 8 points. Caleb Yu also added 4 points in the win.
