West Lafayette Jr-Sr High School

In the first round of the WCJC Tournament, West Lafayette drew Twin Lakes Roosevelt. Crisp passing and tough rebounding led the Red Devils to a 24-13 halftime lead. Michael Gulich pulled down eight rebounds while Martin Vega Diaz added six in the first half. Mason Wright was off the the races in third quarter, scoring seven points and adding five rebounds. Coaches Ho and Frey were able to empty the bench in the fourth with all 13 players seeing action and contributing statistically. The icing on the cake was a wonderful assist from Christian Steffey to Matthew Casillas on a backdoor cut for the teams' final bucket of the game. The final score was 49-24. Wright was the leading scorer with 14. Chase Ostrom and Gulich added six points each. The Red Devils advance to the semi-finals and move their record to 7-8 on the season.
