West Lafayette girls basketball led wire to wire in a 64-27 win at Lafayette Jeff on Jan. 17. The Red Devils, who improved to 15-5 on the season, shot 51% from the field and forced the Bronchos into 32 turnovers. Adrianne Tolen recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 steals. She was 8 of 10 from the field, including 2 of 2 from 3-point range, and 4 of 6 from the free throw line. Kennedy Martin and Sarah Werth scored 16 and 10 points, respectively. Werth also had four rebounds, two assists and three steals. Dylan Kastens and Vivian Huston added six points apiece. West Lafayette led 34-18 at halftime and then outscored Lafayette Jeff 23-1 in the third quarter. The Red Devils won the JV game 32-22. Emma Wiete led the Devils with nine points. Sarah Flesher had six assists and Kyra Swanson had six steals West Lafayette is back in action Friday (Jan. 20), playing host to Tipton in the Hoosier Conference Tournament. It is the Red Devils’ final home game of the 2022-23 season. JV action gets underway at 6 p.m.
