The Western Boone Stars 8th Grade “A” team continued their undefeated start to the season, defeating the Lebanon Tigers 54-34 to move to 5-0. The Stars’ defensive intensity and relentless effort proved to be too much for the Tigers, as they forced turnovers and battled for every loose ball. Jackson Potter led the way with an impressive 23 points, attacking the rim and setting the tone early. Lukas Harrison added 12 points, while Tate Fields chipped in 8. Conner Palmer, Fields, and Ryder Devol dominated the glass, limiting second-chance opportunities and controlling the tempo. Other scorers included Devol (3), Anderson (4), and Wood (2). In “B” team action, the Stars fell to Lebanon 17-26. Despite the loss, Western Boone showed grit and hustle, forcing turnovers and running the floor well but struggling to convert offensively. Crew Gallimore led the team with 8 points, followed by Wood (3), Castillo (2), Warmouth (1), Linton (1), and Miller (2). The Stars look to keep their momentum rolling as they travel to Crawfordsville on Tuesday in hopes of extending their winning streak. The Western Boone seventh grade boys basketball team traveled to Lebanon on Monday night, looking to preserve their perfect record. The Tigers had other plans, handing the Stars their first loss, 30–20. Casey Richardson led the Stars’ defense with full-court pressure, while Corbin Eckert and Cannon Dunk limited Lebanon’s top scorer to just seven points. Despite the defensive effort, Lebanon’s physical 1-3-1 defense disrupted WeBo’s offense, leading to a season-low scoring night with only three players contributing. Game 1 Scorers: Redman 10, Potter 8, Eckert 2 In the second game, WeBo mounted a strong comeback but fell short, 40–30. After trailing at halftime, the Stars surged in the third quarter and briefly claimed the lead early in the fourth. However, Lebanon responded with a late rally to secure the win. Game 2 Scorers: Kinsler 8, Dexter 4, Delp 4, Pasture 4, Young 3 (buzzer-beater), Buchanan 3, Hanneman 2, Gick 2 Western Boone will look to rebound tonight when they host Crawfordsville.
