The Seventh Grade boys ran into a solid Sheridan team Thursday evening. Sheridan jumped out to an early 15-8 first-quarter lead. The Stars answered back in the second with a pair of Bryson Potter threes and a determined effort to get the ball inside to their big man, Wyatt Redman. The Stars cut into Sheridan’s lead, only trailing by three at the half. The second half saw WeBo take a brief lead as their bench provided a nice boost in energy on the court, pushing the ball up in transition. The Stars played a valiant defensive effort that forced the Blackhawks into off-balance shots or deep threes, but it wasn’t enough. Sheridan connected on a higher percentage of shots, made their free throws, and had an answer for each run the Stars made. Final score: Sheridan 51, Western Boone 40.
