CC teams compete in Harrison 10 way meet

The Western Boone High School Cross Country team traveled to West Lafayette Tuesday evening to compete in the Harrison 10 way meet. Despite the high temperatures, both the boy and the girls team showed up ready to race. The boys ran first and were led by Isaac Threlkeld who finished 47th with a time of 20:26, followed closely by Carter Hanna(51st) at 20:37. Graham Cavins dropped over a minute from his last meet to finish 61st at 21:03. Lane Hardee also dropped over two minutes with a time of 22:22 in 81st place followed by Alex Crockett (95th), Brayden Schick (101) and Kole Nelson (128) with times of 23:22, 23:57 and 28:13. The boys finished 8th overall. Bailey Haag led the girls with a 17th place finish in 23:04 with Samantha Jones close behind at 28th place with a 23:35. Charlotte Stucky, Benny Parsons and Kate Higer all ran strong races and finished 43rd, 49th and 52nd with times of 24:38, 25:13 and 25:31. Janelle Gearheart, Rosie Rogers and Katherine Mateika all dropped time from their last meet to finish 76th, 93rd and 102nd with times of 27:13, 30:03 and 31:42. The girls team finished 5th overall. Overall the teams performed well in the hot humid weather. The Stars will compete at the Hokum Karem in Danville this Saturday.
