The Western Boone Lady Stars took the court Tuesday night against Crawfordsville and came away with an impressive 56–24 victory. The game started slowly for both teams, but senior post Emerson Gott helped get the Lady Stars on track early. Gott scored 6 of her 8 points in the first quarter to give Western Boone a spark. While Isabella Fettig did not score in the opening quarter, her hustle and effort played a big role on both ends of the floor. After one quarter of play, the Stars and the Athenians were tied at 9–9. Western Boone found its rhythm in the second quarter behind strong play from Ally Lewis and senior Jaylee Dickerson. Dickerson knocked down two deep three-point shots, while Lewis poured in 8 of her game-high 18 points during the quarter. Bailey Keyes also made an impact by providing outstanding defense off the bench. The Lady Stars went into halftime with a commanding 23–11 lead. Coming out of the locker room, Western Boone’s diamond-and-one defense took control of the game. The Stars dominated the third quarter, holding Crawfordsville to just 8 points. Offensively, Western Boone scored 19 points in the quarter, with Isabella Fettig adding all 6 of her points during the strong stretch. The fourth quarter allowed everyone to contribute as the Stars continued to build their lead. Freshman post Mady Monks came off the bench and scored 6 points, while Jada Sanders added a steal and an assist to Monks, showing the team’s depth and energy. Western Boone sealed the night with a convincing 56–24 win. The Lady Stars will be back in action Friday night when they travel to Frankfort to take on the Frankfort Hot Dogs.
