The 7th Grade Stars traveled to Crawfordsville Tuesday evening. The Stars forced 3 Turnovers on the night. Tyson Riner threw 2 Touchdown passes and ran for another as the Stars shut out the Athenians and controlled the clock in a dominating 28-0 Win. The line of TJ Goss, Ryder Warmoth, Levi Biggs, Rawley Woodrum, Ben Pemberton, and Brooklyn Wagner opened holes and gave Riner time in the pocket to hit his receivers. Noah Baird ran for a TD, Kane Jackson and Colton Mitchell each caught a TD pass. The Defense led by Lane Rose, Baird, Jackson, Mitchell, and Riner shut down the Athenian offense. Riner had an interception, Klayton Mikesell recovered a fumble, and Rose stripped the ball from an Athenian ball carrier. The Western Boone Stars 8th grade football team moved to 3-0 on the season with a 36-6 win at Crawfordsville last evening. The Stars offensive line was once again able to control the line of scrimmage, allowing Jack Mallory, Levi Adkins, Layne Bull, Dane Allen and Carson Nicley to consistently run the ball and hit on big plays. Nicley would also hit a big first half pass to Josiah Wiliamson. The special teams were also able to get involved and add a score from Adkins on a long and well blocked punt return. Defensively, the Stars were able to contain the Athenians run game with strong pursuit, gang tackling and being physical. The Stars' secondary would add to their turnover tally with Dane Allen securing two interceptions in the game. The Stars will host Tri-West next Tuesday.
