The 7th Grade Stars shut out the Blackhawks last evening with a 34-0 victory. The Stars ground game pounded the Blackhawk defense behind the offensive line of Aiden Farrell, Wyatt Smith, Sam Rausch, Maddex Amich and Micah Farris. 3 Touchdowns by Levi Adkins, 1 each by Mason Foster and Andres Morales, and conversions by Destin Caraballo as well as a pass from Carson Nicley to Josiah Williamson rounded out the scoring. The Stars Defense swarmed to the ball forcing several fumbles with recoveries coming from Jackson Bloss & Williamson. Masyn Hoskins, Noah Cole, and Williamson spent the majority of the evening in the Blackhawk backfield disrupting any kind of rhythm the Blackhawks tried to get going. The 7th Grade Stars are back in action at home next Tuesday against the team to the East. Kickoff is set for 5:30. The 8th grade Stars fell to the Blackhawks last night by a score of 28-6. The depleted roster, of just 13 players, were able to battle and hang around in a one score game through most of the third quarter until Sheridan was able to pull away late. Scoring the lone touchdown for the Stars was Zander Venis, who was able to break a long run on the opening drive. Though several were asked to play different positions due to the lack of available players, they were able to consistently move the ball but unable to finish drives. Likewise, the defense was put in a trial by fire situation and having to make adjustments throughout. Eventually, turnovers (2) and poor tackling were the difference. Quinn Westerfeld played a great game on both sides of the ball, both running the offense and with his tackling. The line was able to open holes and execute on offense and continue to fight on defense. Brennen Bivens also ran the ball well. The Stars look to adjust and rebound as they face county rival Lebanon next week.
