Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The High School Swim Team traveled to Lebanon Thursday to compete against the Tigers. The girls were strong out of the gate, finishing 1st in the Medley Relay with the team of Joan Gearheart, Eisley Whitely, Lindsey Steimel, and Kate Higer. Evie Maurath placed 1st in the 200 Free, and Eisley Whitely took 1st in the 200 IM. The girls placed 2nd (Lindsey Steimel) and 3rd (Kate Higer) in the 50 Free, and in the 100 Fly Lindsey Steimel placed 2nd and Jaili Torp placed 3rd with a new PR. The girls took 1st (Evie Maurath) and 2nd (Joan Gearheart) in the 100 Free. Rylee Pelley placed 2nd in the 500 Free, and in the 100 Backstroke Joan Gearheart placed 1st and Jaili Torp placed 3rd. The girls took 2nd in the 200 Free Relay with the team of Evie Maurath, Claire Torp, Rebecca Rustin, and Ellie Whitely. Eisley Whitely placed 1st in the 100 Breaststroke, and in the 400 Free Relay the girls took 1st (Joan Gearheart, Lindsey Steimel, Eisley Whitely, Evie Maurath) and 2nd (Hannah Ranney, Jaili Torp, Claire Torp, Rebecca Rustin). The girls beat the Tigers with a final score of 97-69. In their first event of the night, the Medley Relay, the boys team took 2nd place, but fought back taking 1st (Jacob Norman), 2nd (Henry Biggs), and 3rd (Brayden Schick) in the 200 Free. Alex Crockett placed 2nd in the 200 IM, and in the 50 Free Isaac Threlkeld placed 1st, Zach Connors took 2nd, and Kolten Conner had a new PR. Blaine Ballentine placed 2nd in the Diving competition with a new high score of 132.60, and Gage Bolen had a new high score of 92.25. In the 100 Fly Isaac Threlkeld placed 1st, and Zach Ford had a new PR. Zach Connors placed 1st, and Brayden Schick placed 3rd in the 100 Free, and the boys took 1st (Jacob Norman), 2nd (Henry Biggs), and 3rd (Alex Crockett) in the 500 Free. The boys won both the 200 Free Relay (Jude Balke, Zach Connors, Isaac Threlkeld, Jacob Norman) and the 400 Free Relay (Henry Biggs, Alex Crockett, Zach Connors, Jacob Norman). Eli Baldwin placed 3rd in the 100 Backstroke, and in the 100 Breaststroke Liam Whitely placed 2nd and Jude Balke placed 3rd. The boys claimed victory over Lebanon with a final score of 103-82. The boys will compete again next Tuesday at McCutcheon and the Lady Stars will compete at their Sectional Prelims on Thursday and Finals on Saturday at Crawfordsville.
