Stars take on Tigers in Varsity Tennis

The Stars lost the match 1-4. The lone win came from junior Gavin Hawkins who defeated Matthew Barber 6-2, 6-3 at 1 Singles. The 2 Doubles team of Garrett Prickett and Owen Oakley showed fight on the evening. The duo lost their first set 5-7, but jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the 2nd set before the Tigers recovered and won the match. The JV Stars also had a tough night, falling to the Tigers 0-5. The Stars had good showings from the 1D team of Eli Mitchell and Logan Cripe, and the 5D team of Wyatt and Ethan Barnett. Eli and Logan made a valiant comeback that fell short. Wyatt and Ethan also fell behind early, but battled back before falling short 4-6 at 5D. The improvement for the Stars can not be understated, even though they suffered their first defeat of the season. The Stars will look to bounce back Tuesday as they host the Danville Warriors for an early season senior night.
