Cross Country teams compete in 4th race in 8 days

The Western Boone High School cross country team competed in their 4th race in 8 days on Saturday morning at the Hometown Savings Bank State Preview in Terre Haute. Despite the long arduous week the Stars stayed strong in their efforts to conquer this course. Isaac Threlkeld led the team reaching under 20 minutes with a time of 19:56 (96th), followed by Carter Hanna who ran a very strong race in 20:32 (107th). Alex Crockett was next to finish for the Stars in 22:01 (122nd), and Graham Cavins (22:38, 127th), Brawn Puckett (23:18, 129th), Brayden Schick (23:38, 131st), Lane Hardee (24:11, 134th), and Kole Nelson (28:32 141st) all finished strong. Bailey Haag led the girls team, reaching 43rd in 22:56, followed by Charlotte Stucky in 47th with a time of 23:14. Samantha Jones was next to finish for the Stars in 24:58 (68th), and Kate Higer (26:20 84th), Janelle Gearheart (28:38 96th), Rosie Rogers (30:45 103rd), and Carli Hanna (31:39 106th) showed great efforts despite the heat and fatigue from the week. The Stars will travel to North Montgomery next Thursday to compete in the Charger Classic.
