Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Junior High Cross Country team hosted the Sparkplugs from Speedway Tuesday afternoon. The boys were up first and Aiden Lester led all runners for the entire race and finished in 11:48 for first place. Ari Smith had another solid performance finishing 3rd in at 13:29 and Brentton Palmer continued to improve over previous seasons with a 6th place finish in 14:51. Rex Stanley and Hayden Trenary also had solid races coming in 12th and 15th with times of 17:23 and 18:34. For the girls team it was Joan Gearheart who led all runners coming in first with a time of 13:09 and Lyla Kinsler sprinted her way into 6th at 15:55 with Claire Torp following in 8th place with a 16:48. Jaili Torp, Autumn Palmer and Bristol McCord traded places throughout the course to finish 12th, 13th and 14th with times of 18:56, 19:01 and 19:07. The young Stars showed great determination against a quality program that pushed them to compete well. They will run again Wednesday at North Montgomery.
