Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Junior High Cross Country team traveled to North Montgomery Wednesday to compete against the Chargers and the Warriors from Danville. Aiden Lester continued to lead the way crossing the line first with his best time of the season in 11:34 and Ari Smith fought his way into 4th place with a time of 12:38. Brentton Palmer, Rex Stanley and Hayden Trenary also had solid races finishing 18th, 23rd and 25th with times of 15:30, 17:32 and 18:29 respectively. Joan Gearheart finished 2nd for the Lady Stars coming in at 13:09 followed by Lyla Kinsler in 6th place with a 15:12 and Claire Torp produced her best time of the season with a 15:51 finishing 8th. Bristol McCord, Jaili Torp and Autumn Palmer finished 18th, 21st and 22nd with times of 18:26, 19:15 and 19:20. This was a tough challenge having back to back races but everyone showed up and gave it their best effort. Aiden, Ari, Hayden, Lyla, Bristol and Claire all improved their times from Tuesday's meet, despite two difficult courses and hot humid weather. The Stars will be put back to the test at Frankfort on Monday.
