The Webo 6th grade volleyball ball team traveled to Clinton Prairie Tuesday night for their opening Match. The Stars A team came out strong behind servers Hindley Smith, Ella Oakley and Mar Stambro. The second set was tight with the Gophers pulling it out. The Stars would come back in the third set to win the A team match 2-1. Coach Ransom was proud of the way the team responded in the 3rd set by staying positive and working to correct some of the mistakes from set 2. The Stars B team lead by setters Ros Coffman and Josie Berkopes showed much improvement over the past few weeks and were able to beat the Gopher B team 2-0 in the final match of the might. Wednesday night the Stars hosted their first home match of the season against conference rivals The Frankfort Hot Dogs. The Stars showed much improvement in just one night shaking off the nerves from their first game by beating the Dogs 2-0 in both the A and B games. The A game was lead by serving from Molly Rausch and great front court play by Kaity Gott, Byntlee Duff and Harper Nance. The Stars have been working hard on offense at the net and it’s beginning to show on the court. The B game last night was lead by defensive specialist Della Lance and Olivia Harlos. Both have improved there defense and passing skills this season and anchor the B team Defense. The Stars are back in action next week at home Tuesday night against the North Montgomery Chargers.
