Tennis team competes in Black and Gold Invite

The Western Boone Boys Tennis Team traveled to Lebanon for the Black and Gold Invite Saturday. After an hour rain delay due to rain, the Stars opened the day taking on the host Tigers. Lebanon prevailed 5-0, but the Stars showed improvement across the board vs a Sagamore Conference leading Tigers squad. Gavin Hawkins dropped his match at 1S 6-7, 7-6, 10-12 in a 3rd set super tiebreaker.              The second match of the day had the Stars compete against the Greenwood Woodsmen. The Woodsmen came out on top 4-1 with the lone win coming from the 2 Doubles team of Garrett Prickett and Owen Oakley.       The last match of the day found the Stars playing against the Delphi Oracles. The Stars were up to the challenge, coming away with a 5-0 win. The Stars retooled their line-up for the match and had 1S Brady Warmoth, 2S Andrew Petro, 3S Tyler Konz, 1D Gavin Hawkins/Jon Rutherford, and 2D Garrett Prickett/Eli Mitchell all coming away with wins.       The Stars are now 10-3 on the season and they host the Greencastle Tiger Cubs Monday at 5:00 PM.
