The girls soccer team travelled to Rossville Tuesday night in hopes of turning their season around and finding a win. Their season has not started the way they had wanted, and it has been a struggle to find the back of the net all season long. With only 6 goals in the first 8 games of the season, the Stars came in strong against the Hornets and sunk 7 goals to find the win! Kale Conner had 11 shots on goal during the game, and 2 of those resulted in goals only 32 seconds apart from each other in the first half. Captain Addie Jones gained a hat trick, which is three goals, in the matchup and also worked hard in the middle of the field to create opportunities for other shots on goal. Lindsey Steimel and Rebecca Rustin each secured a goal as well in the match up. Many first year players and underclassmen performed well on the field when being rotated in regularly, and they showed their improvement in being able to both compete offensively and keep their defensive play strong. It was evident that the Stars played more the way they are fit to, by possessing and working the ball up and around the field as a unit. As they take this win, they hope to keep that streak alive this week as they take on Decatur High School on Thursday before moving into the final two weeks of the season leading up to Sectionals.
