The WeBo Stars traveled to Linden to face the North Montgomery Chargers on Tuesday evening. The Stars jumped out to a 30-0 halftime lead and never looked back defeating the Chargers by that margin. The Stars Defense dominated the Charges only allowing 1 first down the entire game. The defense of Ben Pemberton, Noah Baird, Ty Riner, Kane Jackson, Cole Hurliman, Brooklyn Wagner, Lane Rose, Colton Mitchell, Rawley Woodrum, Klay Mikesell, and Owen Young completely shut down the Chargers rushing and passing attack. The offense scored every possession of the first half thanks to the line of Wagner, TJ Goss, Ryder Warmoth, Beau Sanders, Woodrum, and Levi Biggs. Riner and Baird each scored 1 rushing touchdown and Mitchell scored 2 TDs (1 rushing, 1 receiving). Riner and Jackson each ran for a 2 pt conversion and Young caught a conversion from Riner to round out the scoring. The Western Boone 8th grade football team remained undefeated for the season, defeating the North Montgomery Chargers by a final score of 42-12. The visiting Stars were once again able to capitalize on their opening drive and add the two-point conversion to lead early, 8-0. The Chargers, however, would answer to make the score 8-6 (conversion failed). The next few minutes of the contest would see a back-and-forth battle between both offenses making big plays and the early dust would settle with the Stars holding a 14-12 advantage. After making some adjustments on defense, and complimenting a once again strong running game with making plays through the air, the Stars would pull away and dominate from there. The Stars would extend to the lead to 28-12 by the half, get a defensive three and out to start the third, then quickly add another score. For the evening, the Stars offense would neither give the ball up on a turnover, or turnover on downs. Defensively, outside of two big plays early, the Charger offense was unable to sustain any drives or find any consistency moving the ball. Scoring for the Stars were Jack Mallory with multiple touchdowns and conversions, Layne Bull with both a receiving and rushing touchdown and Levi Adkins adding conversions. Defensively, the Stars were able to get pressure and gang tackle throughout. Levi Adkins and Wyatt Smith would each force fumbles, while Adkins would add a fumble recovery and interception. The Stars will make the trip to Hot Dog Country next week as they will battle Frankfort.
