The Lady Stars 6th grade volleyball team was in action this week with home games against the North Montgomery Mounties and the Bulldogs of Clinton Central. The Tuesday night game against North Montgomery saw the A team struggle in the first set due to a coach’s lineup error confusing the young team and resulting in many players playing out of position. The Stars hung tough only losing the first set 25-24 before getting back in the correct lineup and winning the final two sets and the match 2-1. Ady Nicley had a big night behind the service line followed by some strong defense by Cora Reagan and Mae Strambro. The B team continued there winning streak finishing off the Mounties 2-0. Brookalynne Isaac and Sophia Nichols led the defensive performance for the Stars B team. On Thursday night the Stars and the Bulldogs faced off with the Stars closing out both the A and B games in 2 sets. Serving Aces on the night included setter Molly Rausch in the A game and Della Lance in the B game. The Stars continued to improve in both outings this week and will be in action again Tuesday night as they travel to Rossville and play in the Hornets nest.
