The WB Cross Country teams ran in the FlashRock Invitational on Saturday

The WeBo Cross Country team traveled to Northview Church to race in the FlashRock Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning against some of the best runners in Indiana and Ohio. The boys competed against 201 athletes from 24 teams. Isaac Threlkeld was first to cross the finish line for the Stars with a time of 18:55 in 93rd place followed closely by Alex Crockett who conquered the course with a lifetime best of 19:23 (120th). Carter Hanna came in at 19:47 (130th), Graham Cavins (20:35) was 157th, Lane Hardee came in with a season best of 20:47 (162nd), Brawn Puckett lit up the course with a lifetime best time of 21:08 (167th), Brayden Schick was 173rd (21:28), and Kole Nelson ran a strong race to achieve another lifetime best of 24:33. The Lady Stars came out strong against 116 athletes in their race, led by Bailey Haag who snagged a medal for 13th place with a time of 21:41. Next to cross the finish line for the Stars was Samantha Jones who also medalled for 20th place in 22:17, and Charlotte Stucky was right on her heels in 21st place in 22:18. Kate Higer slayed the course and achieved a lifetime best of 23:24.1 (44th), and Benny Parsons was less than a second behind her in 45th with a time of 23:24.9. Janelle Gearheart came in at 25:45 (77th), followed closely by Rosie Rogers posting an impressive lifetime best of 25:53 in 79th place. Carli Hanna came in with a near best time at 28:00, and Katherine Mateika achieved a lifetime best of 29:02. The girls team were awarded ribbons for their 4th place overall out of 18 teams in the competition. The Stars will compete again in a few weeks in the Sagamore Conference. Their hard work, perseverance, and focus has been contributing to their constant improvements.
