PLAINFIELD - There have been many talented players to come through the Western Boone volleyball program. But none of them have had a season of offensive production quite like the one junior Raegan Durbin is having. Durbin had 35 kills on Thursday night Plainfield (on impressive 58.2% hitting) to get to 552 kills on the year, setting a new Western Boone single season record. She surpassed Emily Harrison's mark. Durbin has 1,229 kills for her career. While Durbin setting the single-season record was a highlight, the Stars also got a big win over the Quakers 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22). Along with Durbin's 35 kills, Alayna Christner had eight and Emmerson Gott had five. Each of them had two blocks as well. Olivia Smith had 14 digs, with Emma Miller having 10. Durbin and Isabel Adams had nine each. Janie Ransom had 51 assists. The Stars finish the regular season 18-8 and will face Crawfordsville on Thursday night in the sectional opener at Monrovia.
