The Lady Stars matched up against the West Lafayette Red Devils for their season opener, falling short of the victory and ending with a score of 16-63. The Stars started out with a lot of energy and intensity, but couldn't keep it going for all four quarters. As the game progressed, West Lafayette's athleticism, aggressiveness, and defensive pressure proved to be too much for the Stars, forcing a lot of turnovers and bad passes. The Lady Stars played more consistent offense in the fourth quarter and battled until the end, but couldn't come back from the large point deficit. The team was led in scoring by Olivia Reagan and Ki'erra Koch who each added six points, followed by Ally Lewis with four points. The Lady Stars are back in action for their first home game on Tuesday as they face Rossville. Come out and support your Stars! The Western Boone JV Girls Basketball team traveled to West Lafayette Thursday evening for their first game of the season and they came out hungry for a win, with 6 different players dropping 14 points in the first quarter. The Red Devils made some adjustments to slow Webo's offense but could not get in the lead and the Lady Stars won the game 30 to 17. The victory was truly a group effort with 9 players scoring and great teamwork.
