The Western Boone boys tennis team opened their conference season by welcoming the Southmont Mounties to WeBo Courts Tuesday night. The Stars started strong, taking the first game at 3 of the 5 positions, but the leads didn't last. The Stars dropped their match 0-5 to the defending conference champs with the 2D team of Tyler Konz and Jon Rutherford winning the only set of the day for the hosts. At the JV level, Blake Maurath continued his undefeated at 1S by improving to 3-0 on the young season. The Stars get a chance to bounce back from the loss this evening as they travel to the Pike Red Devils.
