The JV Girls Basketball team traveled to Monrovia Thursday evening to battle against the Bulldogs. The young Stars were able to beat their press but unable to capitalize at the basket in first quarter trailing 16 to 0. The momentum shifted in the second at they went into the locker room down 22 to 10. Webo struggled in the second half at the free throw line making only 4 out of 19 to finish the with a loss of 45 to 21. It was an aggressive game but they handled the pressure well and never gave up. The Lady Stars traveled to Monrovia to take on the Bulldogs. The Stars showed some composure at the start of the game, breaking the Bulldogs' press and getting great looks at the basket. As the game progressed, the Stars struggled to handle Monrovia's aggressive defensive pressure and slow down their fast-paced offense. In the end, the Bulldogs got too large of a lead and the Stars couldn't close the scoring gap. The team was led in scoring by Olivia Reagan with 10 points, followed by Emmerson Gott and Ki'erra Koch who each added 6 points. The Lady Stars are back in action on Tuesday as they take on Covington at home. Come out and support the Stars!
