The Lady Stars traveled to Cascade on Tuesday night to battle the Cadets, fighting hard but coming away with a 36-53 loss. The Stars had a very rough first half on both ends of the court, only scoring seven points and allowing the Cadets to put up 33 points. The Lady Stars regrouped and refocused at halftime, responding in various ways on both ends of the court in the second half. The Stars executed offensively and put up some great shots in the second half, out-scoring the Cadets 29-20. Emmerson Gott, Amaya Westerfeld, Olivia Reagan, and Ila Stokes stepped up big time on the boards, contributing to the increased intensity in the second half. Despite the great hustle and effort, the Lady Stars couldn't make up the large point deficit. The team was led in scoring by Ila Stokes with 14 points, followed by Emmerson Gott with 9. The Stars are back in action on Friday at home as they take on the Tri-West Bruins. Come out and support your Lady Stars! The JV Girls Basketball team traveled to Cascade Tuesday night. After a slow first quarter, the Stars trailed 2 to 6 but found a little rhythm against the press to finish the half down 10 to 14. The third quarter proved to be their demise as they failed to score and the Cadets connected for 13 points. In the fourth quarter with Webo's back against the wall, the Stars turned up their intensity to score 13 of their own but lost 23 to 37. This young team rose to the challenge against a very aggressive team and despite the ups and downs they continue to improve and play as a team.
