The JV Girls Basketball team travelled to Faith Christian in Lafayette Monday evening for a hard fought game. The Stars came ready to play but struggled early defending the paint going into the half down 16 to 20. In the second half their defense stepped up to limit the Eagles to only 8 points and connected for 15 of their own to finish the game with a win of 31 to 28. Defensive intensity was the highlight of this victory as this team continues to improve. The Lady Stars traveled to Lafayette on Monday to take on the Faith Christian Eagles, showing a lot of heart and hustle but falling short of the victory with a final score of 37-62. From the start of the game the Stars played solid defense, coming out with a lot of intensity and energy. Throughout the first half, the Lady Stars struggled on the offensive end, forcing shots and turning the ball over due to bad passes. The Stars regrouped at halftime and came out in the third quarter getting good shots and driving to the basket. The Lady Stars remained aggressive on the defensive end the entire second half but couldn't capitalize on enough opportunities on the offensive end to make up the deficit. The Stars had another great rebounding game, with Ally Lewis and Olivia Reagan each grabbing 9 rebounds for the team. The Stars were led in scoring by Ally Lewis with 13 points, followed by Olivia Reagan with 10. The Lady Stars are back in action on Friday night at home as they take on the Lebanon.
