The Western Boone boy's tennis team looked to improve their conference record to 1-1 on the young season as they hosted the Frankfort Hot Dogs Tuesday evening. Gavin Hawkins got the Stars off on the fast start with the straight set victory at 1 singles and that was followed up by a straight sent victory for the 2 doubles tandem of Tyler Konz and Andrew Petro. Captain Clutch, Blake Maurath, playing at 3 singles, secured the victory for the Stars with a straight set victory of his own. Brady Warmoth at 2 singles and the 1 doubles team of Daniel Talbott and Garrett Prickett battled hard but came up just a bit short. The Stars will look to improve upon their winning streak when they travel to face the Lebanon Tigers Thursday.
