The Junior High Cross Country team traveled to Terre Haute Saturday for the State Preview meet. This was a great opportunity to prepare for the final meet of the season and also to show how hard the team has been training these past few weeks. First up was the girls team racing in a field of 78 runners. Joan Gearheart competed as the front runner of the pack ultimately finishing third in a time of 12:35. Next across the line was Claire Torp in a time of 16 minutes flat with a 50th place finish, followed by Autumn Palmer with an all time best of 18:26 in 68th place and Jaili Torp in 75th place with a time of 19:03. In the boys race of 93 runners, Brentton Plamer led the Stars in 63rd place with a time of 14:51, followed by Kole Nelson in 68th place with a time of 15:16. Caleb Crockett finished in 71st place in 15:44. Rex Stanley finished in 80th place with a time of 17:55, his personal best, crushing his previous personal best time by over 3 minutes. Every member of this young Star team posted season best times, which is a reflection of their every day work ethic.
