The Western Boone boys tennis team hosted the Crawfordsville Athenians Thursday night in hopes of getting back to their winning ways. The Stars were led on the night by Andrew Petro and Tyler Konz who returned to form after a tough loss at Hamilton Heights with a straight set victory at two doubles. Unfortunately, that was the only victory the varsity Stars could muster on the evening. The Stars fell to the Athenians 1–4 with Gavin Hawkins competing well at 1S. The Stars JV continued to impress with a few victories on the evening. Blake Maurath battled back from a 1-5 deficit to defeat his opponent 9–8 at 1S and the doubles teams of Eli Mitchell/Sam Rice and Nick Collins/Wyatt Barnett picked up victories at doubles. The Stars are back in action Monday when they travel to the Greencastle Tiger Cubs.
