The 7th grade team started their night losing 16-25. But the Stars fought back and won the second set 25-23. The third set went point for point until the final two when the Stars lost 14-16. After the match, Coach Kiger was very proud of the team. “Tonight was the best volleyball I have seen these girls play. They played every point with intensity and left everything on the court. Emily Shepard had a great game with numerous kills, and setters Addi Lee and Kenleigh Raby did a fantastic job moving the ball around. I could not be more proud of their efforts.” On the 8th grade side, the Stars fought hard but could not pull off a win losing 9-25 and 10-25. “The girls really improved during this game. Tori Huss had some great touches on the block, and Mickey Burns and Maddy Rawlings each had some aces. This team never stops fighting for each point. With each game, I can see more drive and focus from these girls. Our hope is to carry this energy and determination into our tournament on Saturday.” Both the 7th and 8th grade teams play Saturday morning at 9 at Western Boone in the WeBo invite.
