The Lady Stars finished a respectable 9th as a team with 255 points. Ahead of them were much larger schools including winner Valparaiso with 61 points, Brownsburg, Avon, Batesville, Center Grove, Southport, Park Tudor, and Plainfield. The Lady Stars finished ahead of North Central, Crawfordsville, Herron, Mooresville, Franklin Central, Speedway, Ben Davis, and University. Katheryn Rutherford was the top finisher for the Lady Stars in the girls varsity race in 39th in a season-best 20:53.0. Hannah Haag followed just two places later in 41st, and she achieved a personal best of 21:05.1. Bailey Haag also earned a personal best to finish in 22:01.2 in 64th. Charlotte Stucky achieved a personal best by nearly a minute to run 22:12.7 and finish 68th. Samantha Jones was next for Western Boone in 75th in a season-best 22:27.5. Emily Parsons ran well to finish 94th in 23:11.0. Janelle Gearheart earned a personal best of 25:07.1, an improvement of more than a minute, and finished 129th. Kate Higer ran 27:25.4 to finish 147th, followed by Rosie Rogers who achieved a personal best of 27:33.8 in 148th. Bailey Keyes was 152nd in 28:18.3. In the boys varsity race, Isaac Threlkeld ran consistently to finish 67th in 19:08.5, narrowly missing his personal best by just 0.1 seconds. Carter Hanna ran well to finish 101st in 20:17.4. Luke LaGrange followed a few seconds later in 20:33.5 in 107th, followed a few more seconds later by Graham Cavins in 20:46.3 in 113th. Levi LaGrange was next for Western Boone in 130th in 21:49.7. Alex Crockett achieved a personal best by more than a minute, running 22:01.0 to finish 133rd. Brayden Schick also earned a personal best of 22:36.2 in 141st. Brawn Puckett was 146th in 23:41.1. Xander Rouse earned a personal best by nearly a minute to finish in 23:59.5 in 147th. Valparaiso won the boys' team competition with 29 points. The Stars were 14th with 438 points. In the JV girls race, sisters Cara Hanna and Carli Hanna both achieved personal bests. Cara ran 27:43.6 to finish 78th, and Carli broke 30 minutes for the first time, running 29:05.4 to finish 93rd. Katherine Mateika ran a season-best of 35:58.2 to finish 130th. The Stars will compete at the Tiger Cross Country Invitational in Lebanon on Thursday.
