Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone boys tennis team traveled to Greencastle Monday night to take on the Tiger Cubs. The Stars looked to pick up their sixth win of the season on the night. The team got off to a fast start winning both doubles positions with Tyler Konz, Andrew Petro, Garrett Prickett, and Daniel Talbott picking up straight set wins. They were shortly followed by Gavin Hawkins at 1S, who earned a nice victory as well. The other two single spots for the Stars, Brady Warmoth at 2S and Jon Rutherford at 3S went into super tiebreakers. Jon earned a victory with a 10-0 win in the super tiebreaker. Brady Warmoth, playing one of his best matches of the year, fell to his opponent 10-12 and his super tiebreaker. The JV stars also picked up a win 2-1. The 1D team of Blake Maurath and Nick Collins and the 3D team of Wyatt and Ethan Barnett picked up wins for the JV. The Stars are back in action Tuesday when they host the Rossville Hornets at 5 PM.
