The 7th Grade Stars Battled the Chargers from North Mont Tuesday night. After giving up a long pass for a Touchdown, fumbling the initial possession away, and a kickoff return for a touchdown. The Stars battled back to defeat the Chargers 36-12. The line of Masyn Hoskins, Micah Farris, Maddox Amich, Wyatt Smith, Brayden Henson along with the outside blocking of Josiah Williamson & Sam Rausch opened up running lanes for Levi Adkins, Noah Cole, and Carson Nicley all night. Other than the long TD pass, the defense shut down the chargers with big plays from Mason Foster, Adkins, Amich, & Rausch. The Stars are back in action on Tuesday at home against the Frankfort Hot Dogs. The Western Boone 8th grade football team fell to North Montgomery by a final score of 26-20. Though the team came up just short of a score to pull even or take the lead late, the Stars, once again facing adversity by only having 13 available players, made great strides in effort and execution. The offense was able to consistently move the ball courtesy of the offensive line of Drew Williams, Evan Kiplinger, Jake Riner, Levi Hayden and Jackson Jones, all who played their best games of the season. Reese Young also greatly assisted the run game, getting to linebackers from his wing position. Brennen Bivens, as he has done all season, once again ran the ball with a purpose all night while Quinn Westerfeld managed the offense and was able to consistently check the team into the right plays. Nate Thompson provided a spark, producing the change of pace plays the team has been looking to add. Defensively, after a couple of early lapses, the Stars were able to clean things up but still struggled to tackle when in position. The Stars will be back in action next week as they host Frankfort.
