Lady Stars continue to pile on runs in conference play

The Western Boone Lady Stars got back in action last night and picked up a couple “soggy” conference wins from The Frankfort Lady Hotdogs improving to 14-5 overall and 11-1 in Sagamore Conference play. The Stars offense got going early and often scoring 17 runs in the first game and the adding 11 more in the second game. The Stars had several players with 3 or more hits including Ally Lewis (3), Emma Shirley (5), Mikayla Naanos (3) and Mickey Burns (4) but the Stars were lead at the plate by Gabby Lewis collecting (7) hits in the two contests. The Stars defense was also on point committing 0 errors and allowing 0 runs for the evening. The Stars were nearly perfect in the circle while utilizing 4 different pitchers. Gabby Lewis got the first win of the night facing 15 batters in 4 innings of work striking out 8 and only allowing 1 hit and 2 walks before Kenzlei Mathews came in to close things out facing 3 and striking out 3. Ally Lewis got the second win of the evening facing 12 batters also in 4 innings of work allowing 0 hits, 0 walks and striking out 7 with Mickey Burns closing out the second game in similar fashion facing 3 and striking out 3. The Stars will be back in action tomorrow as the travel to Noblesville to take on the lady Eagles of Guerin Catholic. The Stars will also be hosting the lady Wildcats of Lawerence North for a double header Saturday May 11th with a game 1 start time of 11am and game 2 to follow shortly after.
