The Western Boone boys' tennis team hosted the University Trailblazers on Thursday for the last regular season match of the season. The Trailblazers came to WeBo Courts with a superb record, only losing to teams ranked in the Top 25 in the state all season. The Stars put up a good fight at two positions but found themselves outmatched at the others. Jon Rutherford started with a strong 1st set, before succumbing to Oliver Wang in a 3rd set tiebreaker 8-10. Daniel Talbott and Nick Collins, WeBo's two seniors, bounced back after a tough 1st set to force a super tiebreaker themselves. Thank you seniors for your four years of hard work, dedication, and laughs. The varsity finishes the season 8-12. The Western Boone boys JV played a multitude of matches last night. Two of the three positions earned wins on the evening. Garrett Prickett went 3-0 on the evening, Eli Mitchell and Sam Rice were 0-2, and Ethan and Wyatt Barnett finished the night 1-2. Great season gentlemen! The Stars await the sectional draw on Monday evening at 7:00 PM that determines their postseason schedule.
