Last night, the 8th grade volleyball team traveled to Frankfort. The girls started off strong in the first set and remained in control winning 25-16. In the second set, the Stars started off 7-12, but the stars were able to come back winning 25-18. Highlights from last nights game were some impressive service pressure from Jade Strong in the second set with 9 consecutive serving points. Sage Ward added 7 kills, Tori Huss and Taylor Princell both had 4 kills. After the game, Coach Kiger was very encouraged by her team’s play. “Tonight was the best I have seen this group of girls play. Everyone played their role well and helped achieve this win. With our Sagamore Conference tournament this weekend, my hope is that we carry this energy and drive into Saturday.” The Stars travel back to Frankfort Middle School Saturday morning for Conference. Their first game is at 9:00 am versus Lebanon. The 7th grade Lady Stars volleyball team were on the road last night playing the Frankfort Hot Dogs. The Dogs proved to be to “hot” for the Stars beating them in straight sets 25-15, 25-14. The Stars fell behind early in each set behind some strong Hot Dog serving. When they finally found their groove, it was too late. Highlights of the game were improved hitting by Emily Shepherd, Cali Scalf, and Seraya Baker. The Stars return to action this Saturday as they travel to the Southmount Invitational starting at 9:00 am.
