The Junior High Cross Country travelled to Lebanon for their Conference Championships Thursday evening. The boys ran first and each runner achieved a personal best. Brentton Palmer finished in 39th place with a 14:15, sixth grader Caleb Crockett finished 42nd with 14:40, Kole Nelson finished 43rd and shaved off almost 30 seconds from his previous best with a 14:49 and Rex Stanley finished 49th in 17:39. In the girls race, Joan Gearheart finished 5th with a 12:26 while Claire Torp dropped over 45 seconds on her best time with a 14:57 in 30th place. Finishing 42nd, 43rd and 44th working as a group was Jaili Torp (16:33), Destiny Stover (16:39) and Autumn Palmer (16:43) respectively. Destiny and Autumn both dropped almost 2 minutes from their previous best times and Jaili ran for a season best. The Lady Stars finished 6th overall in the conference. It was a tremendous job on each of the runners' efforts this season, showing how they have been "putting in the work" to continually improve. They will have one more race at the State Championship in Terre Haute this Saturday. Great job and go Stars!
