The Junior High Cross Country team travelled to Terre Haute Saturday for their final meet of the season at the Indiana Middle School Cross Country Championships. In the small school open girls race Claire Torp finished 50th out of 149 runners in a time of 14:00 minutes which was 57 seconds faster than her race 2 days prior. Not to be outdone, Jaili Torp took off almost 2 minutes from conference finishing 82nd with a 14:45. With an outstanding back to back performance, Autumn Palmer also shaved over a minute with a 15:22 in 101st place and Destiny Stover finished in 116th place with a 15:59, dropping her best time by 40 seconds. In the small school open boys race Brennton Palmer finished in 83rd place out of 179 runners with a time of 13:08, which was also a drop of over a minute from conference. Rex Stanley beat his own expectations finishing with a 16:17, proving what hard work and a positive attitude can do, by dropping almost a minute and a half off of his last race. The final event for the Stars was the small school girls varsity race where Joan Gearheart also beat her expectations finishing with an 11:48 in 32nd place out of 299 runners, this was almost a 45 second drop from her conference time. Every member of this team that competed came away with a personal best, which rarely happens. Great job Stars, we had a fantastic season!
