The WeBo Girl’s varsity soccer team lost at Southmont to the Mounties 3-0 on Thursday’s conference opener. All of the scoring occurred in the first half, and all were from set pieces: 2 coming from corner kicks and the final goal from a penalty kick (after WeBo was whistled for a hand ball in the penalty box). The Stars competed hard and reorganized in the second half with contributions from central defenders Becca Keyes and Emma Hosfield as well as strong outside marking from substitutes Paige Anderson and Bailey Keyes. The Stars will need to take lessons learned from this outing as both the varsity and junior varsity travel to Tri-West for their next games on Thursday, 8/29/24, in another Sagamore Conference match-up.
