Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The High School Cross Country team traveled to Terre Haute Saturday morning for an amazing day of competition at the State Preview Meet. The teams competed in the varsity races consisting of some of the most elite cross country runners in the state. Joan Gearheart was first to cross the finish line for the Stars with a new personal record (PR) and a time of 22:13 (39th), followed by Charlotte Stucky with a season best time of 22:25 (42nd). Kate Higer snagged a season best time (24:08, 58th), followed by Janelle Gearheart (26:16, 68th), Claire Torp with a new PR (26:47, 71st), Jenna Twitty with a new PR (27:38, 75th), Jaili Torp with a new PR (28:10, 79th), Rosie Rogers with a new season best time of 28:29 (86th), Adalyn Sartin with a new PR (28:34, 81st), Harmony Gilbrech (32:20, 85th), Autumn Palmer with a new PR (33:45, 86th), and Katrina Brewer (33:48, 87th). In the boys race Aiden Lester was first to cross the finish line for the Stars with a time of 18:50 (78th), followed closely by Alex Crockett who picked up a new lifetime best of 18:52 (79th). Brayden Schick finished with a season best time of 21:40 (106th), followed by Eli Bishop with a new PR of 22:25 (110th), Kole Nelson with a new season best (24:38, 119th), and Brentton Palmer with a new PR (26:49, 123rd). The Stars will compete next Thursday at the Charger Classic at Northmontgomery High School.
