Stars finish 4th out of 11 teams in Charger Classic

The Western Boone High School Cross Country team traveled to North Montgomery Thursday evening to compete in the Charger Classic Invitational. There were 11 total teams at the meet with fierce competition in hot weather conditions. The girls ran first and Charlotte Stucky crossed the finish line first for the Stars in 15th place with a time of 22:33. Joan Gearheart was next for the Stars finishing in 18th place with a time of 23:31, followed closely by Kate Higer in 19th place with a season best time of 23:43, Janelle Gearheart in 40th with a season best time of 25:52, Claire Torp in 49th (27:24), Jenna Twitty in 66th (29:02), Adalyn Sartin in 74th (30:44), Rosie Rogers in 32:10, Jaili Torp in 32:22, Harmony Gilbrech in 32:40, Katrina Brewer in 34:05, and Autumn Palmer in 42:06. The girls team finished in 4th place overall. The boys were up next and Aiden Lester finished first for the Stars with a new personal record with a time of 18:27 in 19th place, followed by Edoardo Carapia in 30th place with a time of 19:04. Alex Crockett finished in 54th (20:26), followed by Brayden Schick who achieved a new lifetime best of 20:52, Eli Bishop (22:55), Kole Nelson (25:17), and Brentton Palmer (27:31). The Stars will compete again this Saturday at Ben Davis.
