Cross Country runners achieve several Personal Records at Ben Davis meet

The Western Boone Cross Country teams traveled to Ben Davis Saturday morning for a challenging competition against 20 other teams. Joan Gearheart crossed the finish line first for the Stars to achieve a new personal record (PR) with a time of 21:52, followed by Charlotte Stucky in at 22:34. Kate Higer fought through to get a new season best time of 23:34, followed by Janelle Gearheart who also achieved a new season best time of 25:15, Claire Torp who achieved a new PR in at 26:19, Rosie Rogers who achieved a new season best time of 28:13, Jenna Twitty (28:53), and Jaili Torp (28:58). For the boys race Edoardo Carapia was first to cross the finish line for a new PR in 17:54, followed by Aiden Lester in at 18:28. Alex Crockett ran for a new PR in at 18:51, followed by Brayden Schick who ran a 21:28, Eli Bishop who finished strong to get a new PR in 22:13, Kole Nelson (24:18), and Brentton Palmer with a sprint to the finish to reach a new PR in 26:15. The Stars will compete again next Saturday at the Flashrock Invitational in Carmel.
