Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Boys Tennis Team hosted the WeBo Invite on Saturday, welcoming the Southmont Mounties and the Covington Trojans to WeBo courts for a round-robin tournament. The Stars opened the tournament with a 5-0 victory over conference foe Southmont. The Stars won 4 of the 5 matches in straight sets with the 1D duo of Owen Oakley and Easton Nance pulling out a 3-set win. The Stars ended the day by defeating the Covington Trojans 4-1. The Stars changed the lineup in the last round, moving Gavin Hawkins and Jon Rutherford to 1D and having Oakley and Nance play 1S and 2S. Hawkins and Rutherford earned a quick win at 1D 6-0, 6-1. They were followed by Freshman Jacob Collins, who won his match 6-0, 6-0. The Stars secured the win with the 2D team of Eli Mitchell and Burke Cavins coming away with a 3-set victory. Easton Nance finished the day 2-0 with his first career varsity singles victory. The win moves the Stars to 10-6 on the year and 4-2 in conference.
