The Western Boone Jr High boys soccer team had their final home-stand of the season last night, squaring off against the Greencastle Tiger Cubs. The Cubs came out swinging and kept the pressure on all night, but the Stars did their best to tame the Tigers, led by the star of the night, their goalie, Hernan Trincado, who made more saves than could be counted, including several highlight reel stops. The defense had their work cut out for them but Fritz Heine, Declan Avila, Maison Lutz, Timothy Walker and Nathan Lester all made multiple stops and saves. At the half the score was only 2-0 in favor of Greencastle, despite their offensive onslaught. Jackson Linton was a man on a mission in the second half, marshalling the midfield, but unfortunately went down with a knee injury late in the game. Andrew Castillo and Wyatt Parris worked well together, creating a great shot on goal for Wyatt late in the game. Unfortunately WEBO didn't come away with the win, but they battled hard and can hold their heads high as they prepare to head for Conference tournament on Saturday.
