The Lady Stars battled against the Cascade Cadets on Tuesday evening, falling short in the end with a final score of 32-58. The Stars struggled to handle the aggressiveness of the Cadets, only scoring 15 points in the first half. The Lady Stars tried to regroup at halftime, but still could not handle the physicality of the Cadets in the second half. The Lady Stars were led in scoring by Katheryn Rutherford with 14 points, followed by Ila Stokes and Lili Jones who added 6 points each. Saige Terwiske stepped in and played great defense and grabbed some big rebounds for the Stars. The Lady Stars are back in action on Friday at Tri-West. The JV Lady Stars hosted the Cadets from Cascade Tuesday evening for a very competitive game of basketball. With a lot of lead changes in the first quarter, the Stars finished the first quarter down 10 to 11. Despite struggling in the second quarter against the Cadet press the Stars were still in the game at the half, down 19 to 23. The Cadets owned the third quarter going up 38 to our 25, but Webo had left everything they had on the court in the forth to bring the game back to only 1 point with a slight chance for the win. With only 6 seconds left and a missed connection for a last shot, it ended 40 to 41. This young team never gave up and played with a lot of heart. Next up is Tri-West at home Thursday night.
